Collector's Shelving

Which finishes are available for Collector's Shelving?

Our Quick Ship units are available in our hand patinated 'Warm Brass' and 'Gunmetal' finishes.

What are the standard dimensions?

Each of our Quick Ship units are available in their fixed overall width, shelf depths, and shelf spacing. However, each unit can be custom sized in heights up to 60" (in full inch increments).

What are the available options and customizations?

As we launch this program, we have restricted the available options that we can offer. Stay tuned for additional offerings, but in the meantime, for units with lighting, millwork, or custom sizing please contact our Sales + Design Team and we will be happy to quote the custom units for your project.

Can I supply my own shelves?

Yes! Simply indicate the number of shelves you will be providing, and we will ensure that our shelf supports are mounted as required.

What is blocking?

We use the term “blocking” to refer to wood supports that have been fastened within your wall or ceiling framing members, for the purpose of providing attachment support for our shelving. Blocking can take many different forms, but we recommend at least ¾” plywood blocking to support wall mounted units and 1½” blocking to support ceiling hung units.

How do I know if I have proper blocking?

Blocking can take many different forms, but we recommend at least ¾” plywood blocking to support wall mounted units and 1½” blocking to support ceiling hung units. As a rule of thumb, if you didn’t specifically ask for blocking to be installed by your contractor, you should assume that you don’t have it.

Is my unit too tall?

When specifying the height of your unit, it is important to consider the clearance that you want to maintain between the bottom of your unit and the surface below.

The following are our suggested guidelines for typical clearances between our units and the surfaces below:
Kitchen Counter: 18–24"
Kitchen Sink: 24–30"
Bar Counter: 18"
Kitchen Island: 24–30"
Bathroom Vanity: 18"
Desk: 24"
Bar Sink: 24"
Console Table: 18–24"

How useful is my top shelf?

When deciding the overall height and quantity of shelves, it is important to understand how much room you will have above your top shelf and how usable that will be.

The following shows our recommended minimum heights for typical installations, based on the number of shelves selected and the location of the horizontal support bar.

# of shelves 1
Minimum height for ceiling mounted 18"
Minimum height for wall mounted 22"

# of shelves 2
Minimum height for ceiling mounted 31"
Minimum height for wall mounted 34"

# of shelves 3
Minimum height for ceiling mounted 43"
Minimum height for wall mounted 47"

# of shelves 4
Minimum height for ceiling mounted 56"
Minimum height for wall mounted 59"

Do you offer quantity discounts?

To make this program accessible, the production quantities have already been considered in our pricing. Additional discounts are available for orders with more than 4 units of the same size.

What's the shipping process?

Each of our units are packaged and can ship via common carrier. For taller units (with 3 or more glass shelves), two boxes may be required. All shipping details and costs will be supplied by our team prior to payment.

ESTIMATED FREIGHT:
All of our unit pricing includes costs for packaging but does not include transportation costs. Each of our units ships from our fabrication facility in Philadelphia, PA and are designed to be able to be delivered via common carrier. Domestic freight is typically an additional 10% of the unit cost. International freight varies more broadly based on destination and speed. All duties and taxes are not included in these approximations and will be calculated by our team at the time of order.

Do you offer international shipping?

We use a freight forwarder to ship these units outside of the US. Once we have received the final destination of the package, we can supply you with cost options based on different transit times to your location. Please note that these costs do not include local duties + taxes.

Can I see a unit in person?

If you or your clients are interested in seeing the quality of our units in person, we invite you to visit our showroom in NYC.

How easy is installation?

Installation of these units should only be performed by professionals. We are happy to answer any technical questions you or your contractor may have to ensure a successful and beautiful installation.

Once your order is in production, we will send you a copy of our installation guidelines and a copy of a typical technical drawing for your unit. (Please note that our Quick Ship units are standard, except for height; as a result, these drawings may not be to scale.)

Will Amuneal install my unit?

Some locations are easier to support than others, but we are happy to provide pricing options for our installers to perform your installation.
